Hopefully I'll be less sick next week and will include my head. :)
How far along? 18 weeks!
Baby's size: According to womenshealthcaretopics.com, he's roughly 5.6 inches from head to booty and 6.7 ounces.
Total weight gain/loss: I've been so sick since last Wednesday and have lost some weight. I couldn't swallow, so I couldn't eat, so I couldn't gain weight. I'm up about 3 pounds now.
Stretch marks? Nope, not yet. I have cocoa butter with Vitamin E at home, my desk at work and in my purse. I'm also buying Bio Oil tonight!
Sleep? Being sick last week messed up my sleep, so my body is exhausted. All I want to do now is sleep and I'm actually getting some. I was dead to the world last night and am feeling a little better!
Maternity clothes? Yup.
Best moment this week: Feeling Bryson move. Since I had a fever last Wednesday, I panicked. It never went above 99.3, but I'm a mother and I worry. When I felt him move, I felt soooo much better.
Worst Moment: Being sick and worrying about the health of my little guy. When I'm sick, I'm a baby, so add in pregnancy hormones and a mom's concern and well, I was a mess. At one point, I cried because I was afraid my hacking coughs weren't letting him get good sleep that I know he needs. Hahahaha.
Cravings: M&Ms. I have been dreaming about them! I'm still on a green grape kick. Last night I told Clay I needed Mexican.
Symptoms: Outside of occasional headaches, none really. I have round ligament pain every once in awhile, but nothing like a few weeks ago. I really can't complain- pregnancy has been a breeze so far.
Miss Anything? Being able to do normal activities without getting winded. Since I've started showing, I've been getting winded easier and being sick isn't making it any easier to breathe.
Movement: I have small movements below my belly button. It's like his hand or foot just brushes up against my belly. I can tell when he's moving around a lot, but he's still not big enough for anybody else to see or feel.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Umm, everything. Thanks sinus infection and whatever else I have.
Moody: I can honestly say I have pretty regulated moods. I'm not one to get angry quickly anyway and being pregnant hasn't changed that. I've always been a sap and well, pregnancy makes me tear up even more I think.
Wedding Rings On or Off? On. No swelling anywhere yet. *knock on wood*
Sex: All boy!
What is baby up to?
He is a pro at yawning, hiccuping, sucking and swallowing now.
A protective covering, Myelin, is covering the nerves (fun fact from the science nerd- when babies are born, all of their nerves aren't myelinated, which is why a baby's entire body wiggles when you tickle his foot. He literally feels it all over instead of just his foot).
His lungs are continuing to develop and will until he's been baking for 37 weeks. His windpipe has branched into 2 bronchi (airways) and each of the bronchi will continue to branch out into smaller bronchioles for the next 10 weeks.
His outer ear is well developed and he can hear what's going on outside his home. I try to talk to him a lot and can't wait to get my voice back so he won't think it's Fran Drescher talking to him. :)
In other B-Man news, I have INCREDIBLE friends. Seriously. I've already posted that Heather brought him

I got home last week and had a package in the mailbox. My friend, Malerie, and her husband, Jason, sent Bryson 2 pairs of the cutest athletic pants I've ever seen in my life and a 5 pack of onesies. Their card made me bawl like a baby. Thank you so much!

On Friday, I got home from a 2.5 hour doctor's appointment and felt rough. I had two packages at the door, one of which was addressed directly to Bryson. I had to show my stepdad how awesome it was that Bry got his first package. I even saved the box to upcycle for something. (Told you I'm a sap) My friend Stephanie sent him some AWESOME new kicks. Of course this now means I'll be on the hunt for some Auburn ones too, but at least he's covered for football season this year! Thank you, Stephanie! I love them!

| I was deathly ill and didn't notice the picture was super blurry, but these are the stock images. I'll replace this picture when I get home, Steph! |
Totally unrelated, but I've been trying to sit up a little more while I'm sleeping so my sinuses won't drain and choke me all night, so I haven't been sleeping with my Snoogle. My two furbabies are liking that I can't sleep with it.

How sweet!! Sorry I haven't visited sooner! Love reading about your pregnancy! It is such a sweet blessing and enjoy every minute! You are so detailed about it I live it! I remember when I was 18 weeks and now we have our sweet girl! Love the sneakers!!! Look forward to keeping up with your blog :)
ReplyDeletePs. Don't be worried about a c-section, I was terrified and prayed hard about it.. And it was totally fine! Be glad to tell you anything about it if you're nervous! Let me know I'll send you my email! Take care girl! You look great!!!!
Hi Andi,
ReplyDeleteGood to see you outside of TB :) I couldn't reply to your comment so I came over here. That's quite a collection started for Bryson already! So exciting :)
I'm not sure yet how my blog post applies to out sons, if it will. Women face such incredible pressure. Can you even imagine being a girl growing up with all of that? I read a statistic recently that >60% of 10-year-old girls admit to dieting. It's unbelievable and frightening....
